Interview Season is Closing in Fast!

Job Fairs and Interviewing typically happen on campus between the beginning of February through April. Here are a few tips to get ready!

1. Make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date!

2. Visit your College Career Office!

50% of students do not take advantage of all the good qualities the office has to offer. Don’t be one of those students. Make an appointment today! This opportunity can provide information on which companies will be at the career fair and which companies are offering on campus interviews.

3. Identify the types of companies you are interested in and how you will fit into their culture.

Once you figure that out, you can come to terms with WHY. If you cannot articulate on why you want to join a specific company to yourself, then how are you going to do that in an interview?

4. Keep up with your social networks.

Be aware of how many connections you have through a company you have targeted. Making a connection before the company visits your school definitely puts you at an advantage.

5. Talk to your parents!

Don’t forget that your parents have connections through networks too. Check their LinkedIn page for contacts within the company you are interested in and see if there are any connections.

6. Look up interview questions!

Take the time to go through and polish the answers to common interview questions that you know will be asked.

7. Relax.

Take time to yourself before the interview to calm your nerves. You can exercise, do yoga, meditate, or even color. All these things will help you to relax and possibly make the interviewer like you better.
